đź“– “He will rescue the poor who cry for help…” — Psalm 72:12
Injustice can pierce the heart like a sharpened blade — especially when it’s ignored or protected by powerful systems. Whether experienced through discrimination, corruption, betrayal, or legal inequality, injustice makes people feel small, unheard, and unprotected. But Jehovah God hears the silent cries. The Bible assures us that He will not overlook the pain of those who suffer unfairly.
Psalm 72:12,13 reveals the kind of ruler Jehovah appoints: one who “rescues the poor who cry for help… and the lives of the poor he will save.” This prophecy points directly to the reign of His Son, Jesus Christ — a king unlike any earthly leader. Christ’s rule, backed by divine power, will bring lasting justice to the downtrodden, the overlooked, and the oppressed. It will not be delayed by bureaucracy or weakened by bribes (Deut 16:19). When Jehovah God’s Kingdom takes full control, there will be no appeals court — because His judgments will be perfect the first time.
Why will his judgments always be perfect?
- Jesus could read heartfelt thoughts and intentions. While on earth, he discerned motives hidden to others (Matthew 9:4). As King, he will judge with complete insight, never misled by appearances or lies. Reigning from his heavenly position gives him a perfect vantage point
📖 “all things are naked and openly exposed to the eyes of the one to whom we must give an account” (Hebrews 4:13). This means that no one will ever be unfairly accused of anything — both Jehovah God and Jesus see all. - Jesus acted with love and mercy. He healed the sick, restored the outcasts, and even gave his life as a ransom for all — including those who rejected him. His words to a man covered with leprosy show his heart:
📖 “I want to! Be made clean” (Mark 1:40,41). His justice is not cold or harsh but rooted in compassion. - Jesus never tolerated corruption. He overturned the tables of greedy money changers and cried out:
📖 “My house will be called a house of prayer, but you are making it a cave of robbers” (Matthew 21:13). Unmoved by greed and zealous for righteousness, he proved that his rule will always be trustworthy.
When we think of these qualities, we can be confident: under Christ’s rulership, injustice will be gone forever. His judgments will be swift, fair, and motivated by pure love.
Unlike human systems, Jehovah’s leadership is founded on mercy, protection, and fairness. While today’s governments may show favoritism to the powerful, God’s government champions the vulnerable. The model for leadership described in Psalm 72 reflects Jehovah’s own heart — one moved by suffering and quick to respond with rescue. His Kingdom, already ruling from the heavens, will soon extend peace to the entire earth.
If you have suffered injustice, take heart: your story is not forgotten. Jehovah God has recorded every tear and every unjust word or act against you. He is preparing a world where truth will reign, where no one will fear being silenced, ignored, or mistreated. Until that day arrives, the promise of His Kingdom offers comfort — a guarantee that justice is not only coming, but will never again be removed.
