đź“– “Greedy people… will not inherit God’s Kingdom.” —1 Corinthians 6:10
Greed isn’t just about wanting too much stuff. It’s when someone puts their own desires above everything else — even above God or other people. The Bible says greedy people won’t be part of God’s Kingdom (1 Corinthians 6:10), because greed makes a person the center of their own world. When someone loves money or things more than doing what’s right, it’s like they’ve made themselves their own god. And once that happens, their moral compass starts to break. Right and wrong no longer matter — only what benefits me. Over time, that kind of thinking leads to selfish choices, broken relationships, and a heart that stops caring about love of others, justice, or truth.
Greed changes how people treat others. It can make someone lie, cheat, or ignore what’s right — all just to get ahead. That’s why God tells us not to keep close company with people who say they believe in him but are still greedy (1 Corinthians 5:11). Their attitude can rub off on us, and before we know it, we start thinking the same way.
But people who love God choose a different path. They focus on giving, not getting. They try to live simply, love others, and trust that God will provide what they need. That kind of life brings real peace — not the kind that fades when the money runs out.
If you feel upset when you see greed in the world, you’re not alone — and you’re not wrong to feel that way. Jehovah God sees your heart. He knows you care about justice, love, and truth. And in His new world, greed will be gone — replaced with kindness, fairness, and love that lasts.
