Sometimes the most painful tragedies are not caused by nature or violence — but by mistakes.
A pilot misjudges altitude.
A driver glances away for a second.
A doctor’s oversight changes a life forever.
In moments like these, we struggle not only with loss, but with the haunting thought: “If only someone had done it differently.”
Such heartbreak runs deep because it exposes what humanity rarely admits — our limits. However advanced our technology or education, we remain imperfect and fragile. Even our best efforts can go wrong.
The Bible captures this truth simply:
📖 “It does not belong to man who is walking even to direct his step.” — Jeremiah 10:23
Why This Truth Brings Comfort
At first, Jeremiah’s words may sound discouraging. But they actually reveal something freeing: we were never meant to bear the weight of perfect control.
Jehovah God created humans to rely on His wisdom, not to carry the full burden of steering the world alone.
When accidents happen, He sees the grief that follows — the guilt of those who erred, the anger of those who lost, the pain of those left behind.
Yet God’s compassion reaches each of them. He offers forgiveness to the repentant and peace to the heartbroken.
📖 “Jehovah is merciful and compassionate, slow to anger and abundant in loyal love.” — Psalm 103:8
Learning to Forgive and to Heal
Human error often stirs resentment. We ask, “How could they?” — or, at times, “How could I?”
But anger cannot undo what’s been done. Healing begins when we release judgment into Jehovah’s hands.
📖 “Love covers a multitude of sins.” — 1 Peter 4:8
That kind of love doesn’t excuse wrongdoing; it helps hearts heal from it. It reminds us that all of us are fallible and that Jehovah’s forgiveness sets the example for ours.
Looking Toward a Perfect Future
Human mistakes will not always cause suffering.
God’s Kingdom — the very one Jesus said would soon rule the earth — will remove imperfection and error at their source.
No plane will fall. No system will fail. No rash word or careless act will ever harm another soul.
📖 “Nothing will harm or destroy in all my holy mountain.” — Isaiah 11:9
Until that day, we can find comfort in knowing Jehovah understands our frailty.
He does not expect flawless performance — only faith and trust in His guidance.
So when tragedy comes through human error, lift your heart to the One who never errs.
He will bring justice where needed, mercy where possible, and peace that endures forever.
