📖 “I will not leave you bereaved; I am coming to you.” — John 14:18

When Jesus spoke those words, his disciples were troubled.
They knew he would soon die, and they feared being left alone.
But Jesus promised that Jehovah would send them a helper — not a temporary comfort, but a lasting one.

📖 “I will ask the Father and he will give you another helper to be with you forever — the spirit of the truth.” — John 14:16-17

That “helper” was the holy spirit, poured out on his followers at Pentecost 33 C.E. (Acts 1:5; 2:3-4).
It gave them strength, courage, and unity beyond anything they could achieve alone.
They spoke in many languages, spreading the good news to Jews and Gentiles alike — proof that divine power was with them.

Today, Jehovah’s people no longer receive miraculous gifts of tongues, but His holy spirit still comforts and strengthens.
Through prayer and faith, it fills our hearts with peace — a peace “that surpasses all understanding.”

📖 “The peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and your mental powers by means of Christ Jesus.” — Philippians 4:7

We also see evidence of Jesus’ continuing presence and Kingdom power today — in the fulfillment of Matthew 24:3, 7, 13-14 — reminding us that the same helper, Jehovah’s active spirit, is still at work guiding His people and preparing the way for Christ’s full rule.

So when loneliness feels heavy, remember: you are never without help.
The same power that comforted the first disciples still reaches you today.
