Poverty and hunger weigh heavily on the human spirit. Struggling to meet daily needs can make a person feel forgotten or unworthy. Yet Jehovah God sees the poor with tender compassion, and His Word promises real relief.

Three comforting truths for those who are poor or hungry:

  • Jesus showed special concern for the poor. He fed crowds (Mark 8:1-9), healed the sick, and declared:
📖 “Happy are you who are poor, for yours is the Kingdom of God” (Luke 6:20). Jesus did not view the poor as burdens but as precious people to be cared for with mercy.
  • Jehovah God cares for the needy today.
📖 “The eyes of all look hopefully to you; you give them their food in its season” (Psalm 145:15,16). God sustains His people through prayer, strength to endure, and the support of fellow Christians. Early congregations even arranged equal distribution so that no one suffered lack (2 Corinthians 8:14).
  • God’s Kingdom will end poverty forever. His promise is sure:
📖 “They will build houses and live in them… they will not toil for nothing” (Isaiah 65:21-23). In His new world, hunger and poverty will vanish, replaced by lasting security and joy.

Jehovah God treasures each life, regardless of wealth or status. He promises a future where no one will ever go hungry again.
